One question I receive often is “I love design, but I’m struggling to find my own design style. Do you have any suggestions?” This is one of those questions where I wish I could hop through the computer and just have an in-real-life conversation about it. It can be difficult because we’re all so different. Our paths are different, our experiences that shape the way we look at things, solve problems, etc. are all different, and all of that plays into the style of artwork we create.

Ever battled self doubt as a graphic designer or as a creative in general? I’m going to go ahead and assume the answer is yes to that one 😉 It’s definitely one of the most common emotions we go through on our creative journeys, though when we’re in the thick of it, it’s easy to feel like we’re the only ones. Today is a pretty gigantic day over here at every-tuesday. After 6 months in the making (and an entire last week on very little sleep), I’m excited to announce the Full Time Graphic Design ebook is finally available! This was a big project – the ebook itself is 74 pages long, and there are countless bonuses (even one including a full portfolio review + evaluation by me personally!).

What started as a basic guide evolved into a deep dive with little clips of my own experiences, from being hired – and hiring – and super specific tips (like the exact days and times which are best to send a cold email). Once I got going, I couldn’t stop myself from thinking of more and more little nuggets I had to include 🙂 Check out all the details here, and a full outline below!

Happy Tuesday, friends! Last week Shirla emailed me and requested a video describing a typical day in my life as a graphic designer. I loved the idea, so I decided to document my day last Friday in photos from the morning commute to coming home to my home office/studio set up. So! In this week’s video, I’m here to talk about it all! I walk you through my work’s studio, where I sit, the equipment I use on my desk at work, how I spend my day at work, then a mini home office tour where Spencer and I work on our own things on week nights and weekends. I hope this little glimpse will benefit anyone interested in graphic design, just starting out – or maybe give other graphic designers something to compare their own experiences to.
