After the positive feedback from the coffee icon tutorial, I thought it would be fun to follow it with a cute notebook icon since they go so well together in real life 🙂 This one is slightly more advanced; We’ll be working off of my illustration vs a stock photo (though you can totally use a stock one if you’d like!). There are also quite a few additional components compared to the coffee icon, but this is still very doable for beginners! Read on to create your own cute notebook icon in Adobe Illustrator! Happy Tuesday! This week, we’re heading back to Adobe Illustrator for a fun beginner-style tutorial! We’ll create a vector coffee icon using simple shapes and add some depth with a flat design and an easy color palette. If you’ve never used Illustrator before or are just getting familiar with it, this is the perfect tutorial to get some basics down. Happy Tuesday! I’ve had a few requests to create flat-style illustrations, so this week we’re creating a flat iMac icon in Adobe Illustrator! If you’ve ever been unsure of how to get started with vector icons, or you’d like to practice your shape-based illustration skills, this tutorial is perfect for beginners. We’ll be utilizing the rounded rectangle, rectangle and ellipse shapes the most and keep things super simple throughout. Happy Tuesday! As we approach Thanksgiving month, I thought Katherine’s request for a tutorial on feathers in Illustrator was a great idea this week. Since no style was specified in her request, I decided to share how to replicate two styles I love – organic and geometric/iconic. We’ll go over a bunch of quick tips, like easily altering paths, applying clipping masks, expanding strokes and utilizing the pathfinder palette. At the end of this tutorial, you’ll have an organic and geometric/iconic style feather you’ll be able to apply any color or texture to, alter easily, and implement to any application in both CMYK and RGB. Hey friends, I’m back! Thanks so much for understanding the small break – we’re still very much in the midst of unpacking + cleaning every square inch of the apartment, but we’re here – we are officially in our house as homeowners 🙂 We couldn’t have asked for things to move smoother – we found the house within 2.5 weeks of looking and officially owned it 3 weeks later!
