Happy end of February! With our mini vacation/early birthday trip this month, it feels like February has come and gone extra fast this year. We’re both really looking forward to everything coming up in March – it’s going to be our busiest month by far.
Happy February! This month is an extra special month for me because on the 28th, I’ll be turning 30, and saying farewell to my 20’s forever. It’s funny how fast 10 years go by and how fast they don’t. When I was 20, I had just transferred from my community college in upstate NY to SCAD in Savannah, GA, where I didn’t know a single person. I was still working the customer service desk at the local grocery store during school breaks, eating dorm food for the first time, and navigating a new city by foot and by bus with my (very) untrustworthy natural sense of direction.
Happy Tuesday! In this week’s tutorial, we’ll create a retro text effect in Adobe Photoshop from scratch, inspired by the 80’s. I’m also giving away the exact style we create as an .asl file (layer style file) and in the tutorial I’ll show you how to save your own layer style and install it so you can have the exact settings that were mentioned. In this week’s tutorial, we’ll create an offset ink effect in Photoshop in just a few easy steps! We’ll begin with a solid background, add a skew to our text, create the effect, then add texture to our background to create consistency between our font + ink effect. Let’s get started!
