As we get closer to the end of April, I looked up when Mother’s Day was this year and was surprised to see it’s pretty early – May 8th! Looks like we’re also getting a Friday the 13th in May, which happens to be both my mom’s and my youngest sister’s birthday. I see a lot of card making in my near future 🙂

Speaking of cards – if you’re short on time or want to go DIY this year, here’s your opportunity to take care of things early for an on time mailbox delivery. There’s nothing quite like receiving a beautifully hand addressed snail mailed card, note or correspondence. There’s also nothing quite like creating that very same mailbox surprise for someone else.

I looooove hand addressing envelopes in all kinds of different styles (suited for the person and the occasion, of course). It’s one of my most favorite things to letter and I can’t believe I haven’t created any video on it yet! That’s all about to change this week and next week with a two part envelope address lettering series! We’ll start this week with sophisticated lettering for more formal notes (for delivery to traditional folks or for classy occasions) and we’ll cover playful and whimsical lettering next week (reserved for the hippest of family, friends and events). We are one week into December, which means we have one less week to send out holiday postcards! Since we created some nice holiday assets the last couple of weeks, I wanted to share how you could easily repurpose them for a holiday photo postcard, 3 ways. In this week’s tutorial, we’ll create a print ready holiday photo postcard in Photoshop with a little help from the Glitz + Glam Kit to quickly and easily get your holiday postcards off of your to do list 🙂 The final postcard is sized 7″x5″ and can fit snugly into any A7 sized envelope. Happy December! I’m not sure how we got here so quickly, but here we are! In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, I’m excited to say the next few weeks will all be holiday-specific tutorials. This week we’re going to start things off with a typography tutorial (my favorite kind) requested by Allison on how to form typography into a shape. To start the holiday theme off, I’ll share how I would create typography to conform to the shape of a holiday bulb using the word ‘Joyful’. Read on to see it all!

Today is a big Tuesday! I just went live with my newest kit, Glitz + Glam, Digital Hot Foil and Glitter Textures, AND I’m giving one of those textures away for free in this post! Happy Tuesday! Now that we’re halfway through the year, it was about time to make a birthday card freebie! Save a little dough this year and show you care by going diy. 😉 This week’s freebie comes in 3 color schemes: red-orange, plumb + gold. Once folded, the card measures 6″x4″ and can be printed on any home printer using A4 or 8.5″x11″ cardstock or paper. Want a different size? Just change the scale percentage in your print menu. 😉
