With January already well underway, it was definitely time for a desktop wallpaper update! Since we didn’t travel for the holidays, Spence and I have started our 2016 working hard on some exciting new projects! My first ever brush script font is getting ready to enter the font-editor phase (will be available later this month!) and every other extra minute has been spent creating classes, new tutorials, and writing the ebook on getting a full time graphic design job (coming in March!). Spence just finished designing our first Every-Tuesday products page (launching this coming Monday) and created this cool barbershop website template, which he’s currently converting into wordpress. Yep. Haven’t left our computers much, haha. Whatever you’re up to this month or have plans for in the coming weeks, I hope this January 2016 hand lettered desktop wallpaper will get you excited for the new beginnings of new things 🙂

I have been working well into the wee morning hours this past week preparing for my new Skillshare class coming early next week. I don’t want to give it entirely away, but there are some pretty vector elements + watercolor textures involved! I’m sooo excited about the class I wanted to give a tiny sneak peek of what I’ve been spending all that time on! Since vector elements play a big role in the class, I created a monster set of over 100 hand drawn vector leaves and flourishes. This set was created for people who may not want to spend as many hours as I did making them 🙂 Today I want to give away 5 of them for free!

This blog is a little overdue for a freebie! With the templates I create, I typically draw out a bunch of different elements, scan them in, then clean them up – very much the same process I use for vectorizing hand lettering. There are always some elements I wish I had used, but they never quite make it onto the design. This week’s freebie are some of my favorite hand drawn dividers that I plan on using for something, but rather than leave them sitting in a folder, I’m giving all 10 of them to you! Each divider comes as an ai, eps + psd file for versions of Illustrator and Photoshop, CS3 or newer. Read on for the download link!

As Spence and I continue brainstorming our wedding invites, I’ve had flourishes and frame elements on the brain a lot lately. It’s so much harder (but so rewarding!) when you’re designing something for yourself! This past weekend I designed a whole set of flourishes + frames in my pursuit to exhaust every option. 🙂

My flourish extravaganza has led to this week’s freebie: a set of vector flourishes and frame elements for Illustrator, CS3 or newer.

Happy Tuesday! Now that we’re halfway through the year, it was about time to make a birthday card freebie! Save a little dough this year and show you care by going diy. 😉 This week’s freebie comes in 3 color schemes: red-orange, plumb + gold. Once folded, the card measures 6″x4″ and can be printed on any home printer using A4 or 8.5″x11″ cardstock or paper. Want a different size? Just change the scale percentage in your print menu. 😉
