Just a few more days left in 2022! To ring in the new year this week, I’ve got a glittery new year’s firework animation for you! ✨

This is a beginner to intermediate animation tutorial, so if you’ve taken my free Procreate for Beginners class, you’ll have no trouble following along. I’ve sized it perfectly for Instagram reels, but please feel free to adjust it however you’d like!

Happy last Tuesday of 2020! We’re finishing up this year’s episodes of my Procreate holiday greeting series today with a New Year’s greeting!

In the spirit of wishing 2020 farewell for good, I thought it’d be fun to create a little mistletoe greeting to send it off 😉

In the tutorial, we’ll first look at a reference photo of mistletoe pulled from my pinterest board, then we’ll sketch out our full layout. We’ll fully freehand our mistletoe based on what we saw in our reference image, then add in a little hand lettering with some dotted swirls as a finishing touch. We’re using my paid set of watercolor illustration brushes for this, as well as my free dotted brush and the color palette is free, as always (also available in the Resource Library).

New Year’s Eve is less than a week away! To celebrate, I thought I’d cheers you Every-Tuesday style with a couple of cocktail glasses created in Adobe Illustrator. This tutorial is very doable if you’re a beginner, but the pace is a little quick, so just a head’s up. We’ll be in Illustrator CC for this one since we’re using the live corners option for smooth contours on our glasses. If you’re not using CC, this can still be done, but you’ll want to visit your appearance palette > stylize > round corners. Ready to get started? Full video + all the colors used are below!

2016 was a really intense work year for both Spence and I. I sat in front of my computer more than I didn’t, but it led to a lot of self growth which I’m immensely thankful for. While I hope (and plan!) to pull myself away from my desk more this year, I wanted to share the ways I hit my design + lettering goals in 2016 and steps I’ll take in 2017. I hope this can be a motivator if you’re just digging into lettering or graphic design, but you aren’t quite sure where to begin.
