Have you ever dreamed of having the ability to animate your artwork and create beautiful animations with ease? Well, dreams are fast becoming reality as the Procreate Dreams animation app is revolutionizing how animators work. As a graphic artist, I can’t help but brainstorm all the little doodles and lettering I’ll soon be able to add life to. Here’s a recap of today’s presentation, along with my hot take as a graphic designer below. 🔥

As we near the start of fall, this week I’m sharing 5 free crisp and cozy fall color palettes! I’ve provided each color palette’s HEX numbers as well as a Procreate swatch download. The palettes are reminiscent of the beautiful colors of Autumn and memories of those cooler, crisper days. You’ll find warm greens, dark browns, dark autumn shades and lighter shades, too. You’ll also find fall foliage colors like burnt orange, dark green, olive, mustard yellow, deep brown and deep green. If you start craving anything pumpkin spice after this post, we’ll take the blame #sorrynotsorry 😉 Let’s jump in!

Adding custom fonts to your Procreate library can take your designs further, adding the ability to inject personality and character with text into all that you create. Whether you’re a seasoned Procreate user or just getting started, this guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of adding fonts to Procreate on your iPad. So, let’s explore the different options of how to add fonts to Procreate and elevate your canvases!

When you’re just getting started with hand lettering, figuring out the lettering styles you’d like to create and keeping them consistent can feel overwhelming. There are so many possibilities!

This week, I’m sharing some simple rules to follow to give you limitless options and we’ll tackle 10 easy script lettering styles you can start using today. Read on for how to make them and pick up a free cheat sheet, so you always have them handy!

If you use Procreate for hand lettering, you’ve likely experienced the struggle of finding just the right brush for your needs. It can be an overwhelmingly time consuming task testing brushes and readjusting them only to try the next one, hoping for the best.

While nearly any brush in Procreate can be used for lettering, not all are designed specifically for it. Today I’m sharing the specific settings to look for in a lettering brush, a list of my favorite free and premium hand lettering brushes as well as some free practice sheets, too! Read on to get it all!

I feel like I will always have a need for cute and simple flower doodles. Whether it’s for an icon on a website or social media cover image, to even logos, stickers and stamps, or using with bullet journaling. The effort to create them definitely stretches far, and when it’s digital, reusing them couldn’t be easier 😉 This week, we’re diving into one of my all time favorites: messy watercolor flowers!

How to build on the basics and delight with detail

My 4 year old daughter and I have been making pancakes lately. A LOT of pancakes (starting to think it’s mostly a ploy for all-you-can-dip syrup at this point). Because she’s 4, we started out by simply following the recipe: pour the mix in, stir in the water until the batter is just right, then head to the stove. Once making pancakes each day became a thing, keeping it basic got a little…yawn after awhile.

A step-by-step guide to test seamless repeat patterns with ease

Why use a pattern tester? Let’s face it: testing patterns manually in procreate is hard. Hard, and definitely not fun. There’s the scaling it down, lining it up, hoping it snaps in *just* the right places and hoping. Really hoping it all works out. It’s actually one of my least favorite parts of the pattern making process. And don’t even get me started about when a *little* white hairline seemingly appears OUT OF NOWHERE and you have to start all over. 🤦‍♀️

*the* worst.

I’ve been playing around with a new style that I’m calling ‘fantasy florals’ and sharing my progress over on Instagram. It’s been so fun to experiment with different techniques (especially when they work 😅) and exploring different ideas as one builds upon another. So far, I’ve decided this is my favorite leaf type within this style and it’s the most fun to make, too. I’ve been so grateful for the encouragement and the requests for tutorials for it, so I’m here to deliver! Today I’m sharing my full, radiant leaf-making method and it’s beginner friendly, too!
