Today’s the last Thursday in August, so it’s time for your free September 2016 desktop wallpapers! This month’s wallpaper is another doodle explosion (hopefully in a good way!) brought to you via an iPad Pro + Apple Pencil + Procreate app. This download includes the wallpapers in two common resolutions: 1280x1024px and 1920x1080px, with and without dates. I’ve left ‘2016’ off of the ‘no-dates’ jpgs, so you can use this for any September in the future, too!

Since today is the last Thursday of July, it means it’s time for your free August 2016 desktop wallpapers! This month you could say I went just a little bit overboard, but if you like a leafy doodle explosion on your screen, then it’s probably the perfect amount. 🙂 This was created on an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil using the Procreate app, then exported and edited a little further in Photoshop. More on iPad lettering/doodling here!

Happy July tomorrow! June was a solid month over here with the Into to iPad Lettering course and the release of my latest hand lettered font, Hawthorne Script 🎉 The extended license of Tuesday Script just got the webfont added in (with unlimited pageviews allowed), too!

July is looking just as productive as I’m preparing my next Skillshare class, Mastering Mockups. This next class will go over how I create my instagram lettering posts (like this one) as well as how to create professional mockups in Photoshop to help sell work to clients and give your portfolio an extra edge. The class will be officially available July 11th 🙂

Speaking of dates, it’s time to freshen up your desktop for July ☀️ This week’s freebie is a set of two hand lettered July desktop wallpapers, with and without dates in two common sizes, 1920 x 1080 + 1280 x 1024. Previews and download link below!

I am beyond thrilled to introduce my newest font today, Hawthorne Script! A lot of love and many, manyyyy hours went into this baby and I couldn’t be happier with how it came out. I packed more into this font than any other before it so you can take it much further than a typical, standard font.

Along with the regular style, a second style is included that contains a full alternate lowercase – just highlight any regular letter and switch it to the ‘alternates’ style to create words that look even more original and handmade! 10 bonus swashes are included (5 left side, 5 right side) as well as 9 standard ligatures. I enjoyed creating this font so much that the language compatibility is a little off the charts: English, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Hungarian, Croatian, Czech, Slovak, Slovenian, Bosnian, Albanian, Estonian, Catalan, Danish, Faroese, Finnish, Icelandic and Norwegian. Phew.

Font previewer below so you can take it for a spin, as well as some additional preview images!

In my newest Skillshare class, Intro to iPad Lettering, we start lettering on the iPad using some guide sheets to get comfortable writing on a tablet vs. paper. If you’re on your way to iPad lettering, guide sheets are wonderful tools. Practicing on paper before making the leap allows a more seamless transition when you’re ready. To help the transition along, this week’s freebie is a set of printable hand lettering guide sheets to improve consistency with uniform letters.

Happy June next week! May usually feels like such a long month, but this one went a little quicker than usual with all of the planning and prep for my newest Skillshare class, Intro to iPad Lettering (launching June 6th!), as well as a few new digital goodies in the Every-Tuesday shop. I’m also finishing up my next hand drawn script font (SO excited for this one!) which will be available mid-June 🙂

In case your desktop is needing a little freshening up for the month ahead, this week’s freebie is a set of two June desktop wallpapers, with and without dates in two common sizes, 1920 x 1080 + 1280 x 1024. Previews and download link below!

Happy Tuesday! I want to start by saying wow to everyone who has checked out Bounce Lettering! I’m so grateful for all of the kind feedback and I am so impressed and inspired by all of the wonderful projects that are coming out of the class! I thought I’d take bounce lettering/waterbrush lettering even a little further this week with a free add-on tutorial to both classes.

A style that is gaining in popularity over on Instagram is rainbow brush lettering. It would take foreverrrr to alternate colors to form a word, let alone form the word as pretty as you’d like with so many re-dips. In this week’s video, I’m sharing a trick for applying a rainbow of color to your brush lettering without a zillion re-dips in the process 🙂 There are two methods shown in the video – one to ease you into the process and the other to take full advantage of all the colors you’d like. Links to the products used + everything you need to know to start rainbow brush lettering below!

Happy February! This month is an extra special month for me because on the 28th, I’ll be turning 30, and saying farewell to my 20’s forever. It’s funny how fast 10 years go by and how fast they don’t. When I was 20, I had just transferred from my community college in upstate NY to SCAD in Savannah, GA, where I didn’t know a single person. I was still working the customer service desk at the local grocery store during school breaks, eating dorm food for the first time, and navigating a new city by foot and by bus with my (very) untrustworthy natural sense of direction.

Oh my gosh, you guys. It’s finalllllly done! Today I’m happy to announce the debut of my first ever brush script font, Tuesday Script! I started this font in early December, following the same processes as the font project, but this time in script form, so there were a few adjustments to make sure all the letters flowed and connected properly together. Plus – this font comes with international supported characters so how those were made in the program was another learning experience 🙂 I took the leap and purchased the pro version of Glyphs (which is not so cheap, but I was able to get a discount by providing them with my itunes receipt from my Glyphs Mini purchase). I’m no expert yet, and when I figure some of the fancier features out, I may create a full class (is that something you’d want?), but for now, I’m celebrating the win of having the font complete and ready for you!

Spencer coded up another text editor, so you can try the full font out below. I’d love to hear what you think!

With January already well underway, it was definitely time for a desktop wallpaper update! Since we didn’t travel for the holidays, Spence and I have started our 2016 working hard on some exciting new projects! My first ever brush script font is getting ready to enter the font-editor phase (will be available later this month!) and every other extra minute has been spent creating classes, new tutorials, and writing the ebook on getting a full time graphic design job (coming in March!). Spence just finished designing our first Every-Tuesday products page (launching this coming Monday) and created this cool barbershop website template, which he’s currently converting into wordpress. Yep. Haven’t left our computers much, haha. Whatever you’re up to this month or have plans for in the coming weeks, I hope this January 2016 hand lettered desktop wallpaper will get you excited for the new beginnings of new things 🙂

It’s time for a new hand lettered desktop wallpaper! I’ve really enjoyed making these the last few months and plan to keep these going all next year – it’s also nice to get a frequent refresh on my own desktop 🙂 This month’s wallpaper doubles as a sneak peek! I’m half way through creating my next font – a brush script this time, and I just finished up the full lowercase portion. The December lettering you see will soon be an available font! Look for it next month 😉 Until then – grab the wallpaper in two different sizes: 1920×1080 and 1280×1024 with and without dates below!
