Happy Tuesday! Time for tutorial no.3 (of 6!) in my holiday tutorial series! This week, we’re creating candy cane lettering, complete with wrapped peppermints and decorative, wintery swirls.
It’s time for video no.2 (of 6!) in my holiday tutorial series! This week, we’re creating a playful gift tag, surrounded by gouache details. Use the gift tag to write sweet notes, quotes or holiday greetings!
We’re kicking off my annual holiday tutorial series this week with tutorial number 1 of 6! I’ve got a bunch of fun projects for you this year that you’ll be able to repurpose however you’d like for both digital and stationery needs! Today, we’re starting with some easy evergreen doodles using chalk brushes for that nice hard + soft feel, then finishing it up with hand lettering and a textured, two toned border.
I’ve got a fun lettering project for you this week that you can use for any of your holiday social posts or stationery! In the video, we go through 5 different lettering enhancements, compiling each one onto the one before it. You can use any of these individually or stack them just the same, so there are plenty of options to make it your own.
When it comes to lettering in Procreate, I’m often asked how to create lettering on a curve. Unfortunately, Procreate doesn’t currently have a way to type along a path (which would be the perfect template), so we have to get a little creative, but it *can* be done! This week, I’m sharing two ways you can do it.
With Halloween closing in on us this coming weekend, I couldn’t let it pass without something to celebrate! This week, we’re creating some multi-colored glowing outline lettering, adding some spider webs and even including our little friend dangling off of one of the letters. We take it even further by adding in a simple animation to the spider, too! And we’re only using one brush for all of it!
Time for some fall wreaths! Always one of my favorite tutorial occasions each year 🙂 This year, though, we’re making 3 of them and we’re doing them all in a doodle/sketchy style and keeping things loose and fun – these are all made up of simple shapes that – I promise you – anyone can draw!
I think it’s pretty clear that I love cute polaroids + post-its and how easy it is to to make them lift from the screen 🤩After making my free washi tape stamps, I couldn’t stop myself from drawing more! This week, I’m bringing you a fall themed post-it that uses all free brushes – two of my own and one in Procreate’s default library. It’s the perfect element to display all of your sweet fall messages whether you use hand lettering or typeable text.
I’ve been making little flower doodle bouquets using my new free set of vase stamps, so a big bouquet was definitely in order! We’ll be densely packing this vase and adding in several types of seasonal foliage to bring in all those cozy fall vibes – and it’s beginner friendly, too!
Since it is now *officially* fall in the Northern Hemisphere, I’ve got a quick tip video for making different leaf shapes this week! By using the vertical symmetry feature and pairing it with some simple template shapes, it’s kind of amazing how fast complex leaf shapes can come together.
I just loooove a layered illusion, especially when it’s made of simple elements where your eyes don’t have to focus on a zillion things. What’s better is being able to replicate that same process with any element! Today I’m sharing a really easy method for an impactful depth illusion and we’re doing it all with *one* brush. Use this on stationery, social media posts, quote graphics…you name it!
Ok, I know summer is coming to an end (I’m probably in the minority here, but I’m not ready!) and we’ve had the sweetest little wild strawberries growing by the country roadside in Georgia, so this is me clinging onto what’s left of the season in one last summer-ish tutorial. Plus, how cute and delicious does this little gem of a berry look?! 🍓 (Don’t worry, I’ve got brand new fall tuts in the queue – they’re on their way!)
