Since today is the last Thursday of July, it means it’s time for your free August 2016 desktop wallpapers! This month you could say I went just a little bit overboard, but if you like a leafy doodle explosion on your screen, then it’s probably the perfect amount. 🙂 This was created on an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil using the Procreate app, then exported and edited a little further in Photoshop. More on iPad lettering/doodling here!

I want to start by saying a gigantic THANK YOU! for all of your kind comments from Tuesday’s tutorial (it even got a shout out from Adobe!). Spence and I have been doing some serious planning these days to make your experience here as best as it can be. The first baby step was implementing the new keyboard shortcuts on videos, a Tuesday Tips section and easy-to-pin images. But, that’s just the beginning. 😉 I can’t wait to share some of the other new ideas we’re planning to implement in the months and year to come!

Until then, if you’re a little short on list-designing time, I wanted to give away the design created in the tutorial this week as a free printable in 3 color schemes. There are 2 of each color per sheet, so you can print them all, or just print the color you like best 😉 Download link and preview images below!

Happy Thursday! To celebrate the launch of Mastering Mockups this week, I thought I’d throw in another little extra bonus (did you catch the free lesson from the class in Tuesday’s video?). If you like putting your calligraphy or artwork on stationery, this week’s freebie was made just for you! With just a couple of clicks (full written step-by-step on using the file below!), you can place your artwork on this greeting card, just like in the preview image, in less than a minute! Use this for your own product sell pages or social media posts to get your work noticed quickly – grab the file below!

It’s been a little while since I shared a freebie texture, so today I’m sharing some ink textures! I started using these rolled ink textures in my artwork a while ago, the most recent example being this one to show off Tuesday Script. I’ve even masked these into typography using the same method as watercolor typography for some really nice textured type results. If nothing else, they are sooooo fun to play around with and add that little extra handmade feel to any kind of artwork. The best part? Every texture comes as a vector ai file for versions of Illustrator, CS3 or newer PLUS every texture comes as a transparent png, so it’s cake to use with any other kind of software 😉 Preview images + download link below!

Happy July tomorrow! June was a solid month over here with the Into to iPad Lettering course and the release of my latest hand lettered font, Hawthorne Script 🎉 The extended license of Tuesday Script just got the webfont added in (with unlimited pageviews allowed), too!

July is looking just as productive as I’m preparing my next Skillshare class, Mastering Mockups. This next class will go over how I create my instagram lettering posts (like this one) as well as how to create professional mockups in Photoshop to help sell work to clients and give your portfolio an extra edge. The class will be officially available July 11th 🙂

Speaking of dates, it’s time to freshen up your desktop for July ☀️ This week’s freebie is a set of two hand lettered July desktop wallpapers, with and without dates in two common sizes, 1920 x 1080 + 1280 x 1024. Previews and download link below!

Father’s Day is just a little over 2 weeks away! If you’d like to go DIY this year or get yours in the snail mail early, this week’s freebie is a Father’s Day card printable. The download includes a pdf with print instructions, trim + score marks all included. The final, trimmed size is 4″x6″ (vertical) which can fit perfectly in any A4 sized envelope. Extra preview image and download link below!

Happy June next week! May usually feels like such a long month, but this one went a little quicker than usual with all of the planning and prep for my newest Skillshare class, Intro to iPad Lettering (launching June 6th!), as well as a few new digital goodies in the Every-Tuesday shop. I’m also finishing up my next hand drawn script font (SO excited for this one!) which will be available mid-June 🙂

In case your desktop is needing a little freshening up for the month ahead, this week’s freebie is a set of two June desktop wallpapers, with and without dates in two common sizes, 1920 x 1080 + 1280 x 1024. Previews and download link below!

In this past Tuesday’s tutorial, we walked through how quick and easy it is to create your own tshirt mockup in Photoshop. Sometimes time can get pretty short, though, and if you’re in a pinch for a nice mockup, luckily there are a bunch of apparel mockup resources peppered into the internet 🙂 This week I’m sharing a roundup of 5 free apparel mockups – (yep, free!) so you can get your mockup on in no time. Extra bonus: many of these sites have plenty of other kinds of mockups, too! Links and preview images below! 👇

It’s been far too long since I created a freebie outside of the monthly desktop wallpapers, so today that is changing! If you checked out Tuesday’s tutorial, we went over all of the settings to create any custom Photoshop brush you’d like. Today’s freebie puts those settings into practice and includes 2 dynamic Phototshop brushes for you to use at will, on anything you’d like. If you have a Wacom tablet, pressure settings for size variation are already built into each brush 🙂 If you don’t have a Wacom, no sweat – the size will vary randomly instead of based on pressure. Install instructions are also included so you can begin using both brushes right away (use with Photoshop, CS3 or newer). Preview images and download link below!

This week’s tutorial comes courtesy of Kori, who requested an overview of the Illustrator Pathfinder Palette and I thought it was a great idea! The pathfinder palette is a ridiculous time saver when it comes to creating custom lettering, flourish designs, and vector-based Illustrations just to name a few. In this week’s video, we go over my favorite and most used pathfinder options. We’ll also go through a brief overview of the other options for you to get started. As a bonus, I’ve created a couple of Illustrator pathfinder palette cheat sheets (pdfs), so you have them handy whenever you may need them in the future. Download link to the cheat sheets and full overview video all below!

As we get closer to the end of April, I looked up when Mother’s Day was this year and was surprised to see it’s pretty early – May 8th! Looks like we’re also getting a Friday the 13th in May, which happens to be both my mom’s and my youngest sister’s birthday. I see a lot of card making in my near future 🙂

Speaking of cards – if you’re short on time or want to go DIY this year, here’s your opportunity to take care of things early for an on time mailbox delivery. This week’s freebie is a printable Mother’s Day card with a folded size of 6″x4″ (perfect for any A4 sized envelope). The card is laid out on an 8.5″x11″/A4 sized sheet of paper with all trim marks included so you can print it out at home without any hassle. Download link and preview image below!
