Happy June next week! May usually feels like such a long month, but this one went a little quicker than usual with all of the planning and prep for my newest Skillshare class, Intro to iPad Lettering (launching June 6th!), as well as a few new digital goodies in the Every-Tuesday shop. I’m also finishing up my next hand drawn script font (SO excited for this one!) which will be available mid-June 🙂

As we get closer to the end of April, I looked up when Mother’s Day was this year and was surprised to see it’s pretty early – May 8th! Looks like we’re also getting a Friday the 13th in May, which happens to be both my mom’s and my youngest sister’s birthday. I see a lot of card making in my near future 🙂

Speaking of cards – if you’re short on time or want to go DIY this year, here’s your opportunity to take care of things early for an on time mailbox delivery. Happy Tuesday! I want to start by saying wow to everyone who has checked out Bounce Lettering! I’m so grateful for all of the kind feedback and I am so impressed and inspired by all of the wonderful projects that are coming out of the class! I thought I’d take bounce lettering/waterbrush lettering even a little further this week with a free add-on tutorial to both classes.

A style that is gaining in popularity over on Instagram is rainbow brush lettering. It would take foreverrrr to alternate colors to form a word, let alone form the word as pretty as you’d like with so many re-dips. In this week’s video, I’m sharing a trick for applying a rainbow of color to your brush lettering without a zillion re-dips in the process 🙂 There are two methods shown in the video – one to ease you into the process and the other to take full advantage of all the colors you’d like. Happy April tomorrow!

Everything felt very non-stop sprint throughout all of March. Most of it was due to my ocd with getting the ebook as perfect as possible. If I didn’t become a designer, I would have been a writer, so I naturally spend more time than I probably should carefully crafting sentences and evaluating word choices. But! It’s finally out into the world and I’ve returned to breathing once again 🙂 (I made a free preview of the book available yesterday! If you’re interested, click here to download it!)

I’m really looking forward to diving back into design tutorials this coming month. It seems like I’ve been away from them longer than 4 weeks and I’ve missed putting them together. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of prep on an upcoming Intro to Photoshop class. This will be the best quality course I’ve ever done (a real production team-quality!) and it’s hard to keep in the excitement for it, but I’ll have many more details as the month goes on 🙂 I’m also planning my next Skillshare class this month, so if you’re on the every-tuesday email list, keep an eye out because free spots to the class will be heading your way soon!

If you’ve been an Every-Tuesday visitor, you know there are a lot of typography loving posts here, like Typins (typography pins) and Text Drive (a purchased version and a free version of a similar font style), but I’ve had yet to create a post series about current fonts that I’m crushing on or putting on my ‘gotta buy it!’ list.

Checking out new and old fonts and lettering styles is something I spend time every week doing, so starting today, Font Crush is going to be a new post series where I share some of my favorites I’ve recently come across.
